The People

The achievement of great goals requires a clear vision of the path and the right skills for the journey.  These include the necessary motivation and a good portion of confidence and stamina.  We are convinced that we fulfill these criteria!

Who we are

We were brought together by the common conviction that the time for an Austrian ecovillage is ripe.  Some of our skills are:  agri- and horticulture, permaculture design, project and co-op experience, group management, public relations, alternative healing, pedagogy, arts & crafts, information technology, engineering, the joy of learning, and many years of contact to other ecovillage projects.

We are intent and committed to the realization of this ecovillage.  We see ourselves as active goal-oriented bridge builders between reality and the ideal.  Our contribution to the mending of the relation between culture and nature lies in the development and testing of ecologically and socially sustainable lifestyles.

Since it is not possible to introduce everybody here, we have limited ourselves to the current core team members.  In addition to the core members, there are many other people involved in the ecovillage project. Interested Parties are just kept informed. Our supporters also get our newsletter and they help us financially or actively (e.g. the volunteers of the European Voluntary Service). This circular diagram shows the internal structure of KEIMBLATT ÖKODORF.

Alexander Dwořak - Financing and Networking

Born: 1974 in Vienna.
Motto: To be as I’d like the world to be.
Resume: I’ve lived 25 years of my life on the outskirts of Vienna. Whilst at grammar school, I spent a lot of time enjoying nature and playing hand-ball. After studying law for a while and spending a year driving around delivering messages, I went to a mechanical engineering college. This led me to following my carer passion at that time I started work in the motor-bike industry. However, this plan didn’t last long. Somewhat disorientated, I started work in a company involved in renovation and repairs from water-damage. Then I graduated as a Civil Engineer and also passed the exam giving me the right to be an employer. Being responsible for the Sales and technical Department, I came into contact with many different sots of people. Becoming increasingly interested in ‘Sustainable Development’, I worked voluntarily for the European Association for the Promotion of Sustainable Development. Since Autumn 2003, I have been working for KEIMBLATT OEKODORF and in March 2005, after a 2-month journey through Latin America, I have become fully involved in the eco-village project.
