The Region
Due to the climatic and socio-geographic conditions we have chosen the region of Südburgenland/Oststeiermark as the optimal location of our ecovillage. Our target districts are Güssing, Jennersdorf, Fürstenfeld and Feldbach. read more...
The decisive factors are the following: we are able use existing and establish new networks because many people are already aware of the potential this region offers (regional production of energy, distribution and marketing co-operations, sustainable tourism etc.). The mild climate allows for the cultivation of a large variety of arable crops, which is the basis for a high degree of local and self-supply. |
Due to the positive economic, social end ecological impulse the ecovillage offers to the surrounding region (see chapter on realization) we expect the decision-makers, economic players and opinion leaders to support us and our project.
Cooperation with the Region
The highest precept for an expansive and at present unique project in Austria are co-operations on all levels and dimensions. During the entire process all those involved (local population, politicians etc.) will be invited in order to achieve a maximum of transparency and acceptance. The realization of the ecovillage provides a great variety of new opportunities and advantages for the region.
