The scientific advisory council

As is the case with any innovation the ecovillages, too, require substantiated fundamental work. Scientists who stand behind our project and accompany it with the critical eye of science support us in our work:

Doz. Dr. Peter Weish

(associate lecturer at the University of Vienna and others)
«The era of cheap, plentiful crude oil is coming to an end. The best approach to achieving the necessary decentralization of the settlement and land use structures are ecovillages. Ecovillages allow for the realization of “overall alternatives” ranging from synergies of autarkic energy and food supplies to cultural activities to lived basic democracy. Ecovillages are excellent models and examples for designing a future worth living.»

Dr. Filippina Risopoulos, M.A.

lecturer; "Task Force Sustainable Universität Graz")
«“Teach your children [...]: Earth is our mother. Whatever affects the earth will also affect the sons of the earth. [...] the earth does not belong to the people, people belong with the earth [...].” (excerpt from “Wir sind ein Teil der Erde.” Published by: Walter, Olten und Freiburg i. Brsg., 1983) Once we manage to see the impact of the actions of all of us we are on the right track! I consider the idea of living “peacableness, sustainability and self-fulfillment” to be a good intention. I wish for the realization of the ecovillage to succeed!»

DI Dr. Alfred Strigl (managing associate of the plenum)

«I consider the vision of KEIMBLATT ÖKODORF – life in harmony with planet earth and among the people –to be my own vision as well. Living and working in the ecovillage is probably the most sustainable lifestyle experiment in Austria. Of course the “Keimblatt” must grow first and prove itself in practical life. I support the idea of an ecovillage with all the means I have because ecovillages have always been places where personal and individual development, peace and sustainability can be lived. My best wishes to the most courageous pioneers Austria has at the moment.»

Dr. Gerald Steiner (lecturer: University of Graz, University of Applied Sciences - Industrial Design)

«During the past decade there have basically been only few courageous initiatives in the area of living and working. Our society needs adventurers, innovation and creativity when it comes to developing up-to-date and adequate lifestyles. As Mutter Teresa said: “Do not wait for leaders; do it alone, person to person.” In this sense I wish the KEIMBLATT ÖKODORF team lots of luck and joy in creating and shaping a future worth living not only for humans but also for animals, for all of Nature, for Gaia!»

Dr. Fritz Hinterberger

(CEO and president of SERI - Sustainable European Research Institute)
«Sustainability requires diversity, experiments and examples how “it” can be done. KEIMBLATT ÖKODORF is a pioneer in the sense of trying and showing that a feasible development is possible also in very concrete ways. May the scientific steering help in making this experiment multipliable.»

Dr. Fritz Binder-Krieglstein

(CEO of Renewable Energies Consulting)
«If someone, like me, has been involved in improving the world for decades then there are some examples that stand out in their own special way. The approach taken by KEIMBLATT ÖKODORF is such an example: Because such a comprehensive development of new forms of being together are rare. And being a pioneer and a living example always unfurls more power than even the most powerful words.»

Der operative Beirat

Ing. Alexander Dworak
